What the widget shows

The badge displays the visitor's own public IP address, the country flag with the city the address geolocates to, and the name of the network (ISP or hosting provider) that announces it. Below the data sit two links: Powered by ipcheckerpro, which credits the data source, and Check my IP leaks →, which opens our IP leak test so the visitor can verify that their VPN, DNS and WebRTC do not expose a different address. Every value comes from the same public API the site uses, GET https://ipcheckerpro.com/api/v1/ip, which is called from the visitor's browser so the widget sees the address your visitor is really connecting from, not your server's.

Installation

  1. Pick a theme and size above; the preview on this page updates immediately with your own address.
  2. Copy the snippet and paste it where the badge should appear — a sidebar, a footer, a "status" box or a help article. It renders in place, right after the script tag.
  3. Nothing else to configure. The script is under 6 KB, has no dependencies, loads asynchronously (async) so it never blocks your page, and is cached for a day by browsers and CDNs.

The script version renders inside a shadow DOM: its styles cannot leak into your page and your stylesheet cannot accidentally restyle it. If your platform strips third-party scripts (many page builders, forums and wikis do), switch the generator to the iframe variant: the frame is a tiny server-rendered document with the same content and look, framable from any origin.

Themes and sizes

data-theme="dark" renders a slate card for dark layouts, data-theme="light" a white card with dark text. data-size="m" is a 300 px wide badge with an 18 px address, data-size="s" a 240 px badge with a 15 px address for narrow sidebars. Both sizes shrink to the width of their container on phones. The iframe variant takes the same choices as theme and size query parameters.

Privacy

The widget sets no cookies and stores nothing in the visitor's browser. The only request it makes is the API call for the visitor's own address, which we rate-limit per IP and do not log beyond anonymous aggregate counters (the live statistics page shows what we keep). No personal data about your visitors reaches us other than the IP address that any web request carries anyway, and it is not associated with your site. Geolocation is provided by DB-IP Lite (CC BY 4.0); the "Powered by" link carries the required attribution for you.

Need the raw data instead?

If you would rather build your own display, call the JSON API directly: it is CORS-enabled, keyless for 60 requests per minute, and a free API key raises that to 1,000 requests per day.

Sık sorulan sorular

Does the widget slow my page down?

No. The script is under 6 KB, loads with the async attribute and renders after your content; the API call happens in the background and the badge shows "Detecting…" until it answers.

Can I remove the "Powered by ipcheckerpro" link?

The link is the condition of the free widget and also carries the DB-IP attribution that the geolocation license requires. If you need an unbranded display, use the API and render the data yourself.

Why does it show a different city than my visitor expects?

IP geolocation resolves to the region where the ISP assigns the address, typically the nearest metropolitan area; mobile and VPN connections can resolve farther away. The widget shows what any website sees for that address.

Does it work on HTTP sites, WordPress, Blogger or Notion?

It works anywhere a script tag or an iframe can be embedded. Platforms that block third-party scripts (Blogger, Notion, most forums) accept the iframe variant.
