Privacy policy
What ipcheckerpro records when you use its tools, why, how long it is kept, which third parties are involved, and how to contact us about your data.
Summary
ipcheckerpro has no user accounts, sets no cookies for ordinary visitors, and does not sell or share personal data with anyone. The tools work by looking at the connection you make to us, so they necessarily see your IP address and the headers your browser sends; this page explains what we do with that and what we keep. Lookup records are stored with a hashed IP address for 30 days. Contact messages are stored so we can answer them. Banner impressions and clicks are counted as daily totals, not per person. If web analytics is enabled, it is Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization, and that is the only case in which a cookie is set outside the admin area.
Who is responsible
ipcheckerpro is operated by the small independent team described on the About page. For any question or request about your data, use the contact page.
What we collect and why
Data processed to show you a result
When you open a tool, our server reads your IP address, your User-Agent, Accept-Language, and other request headers, and, if you run a browser test, the values your browser reports (time zone, languages, screen size, WebRTC candidates, IPv6 reachability, automation flags). This data is used immediately to render the page you asked for. Results for an address, including your own, are cached on our server for up to 30 minutes so that repeated requests are fast. Nothing from this step is linked to a profile or an identity.
Lookup log
When you use a lookup tool with a value you entered (IP lookup, IP checker, proxy checker, reverse DNS, DNS lookup, DNS propagation, WHOIS, ASN lookup, and the user agent parser), we record: the time, the tool, the site language, a SHA-256 hash of your IP address combined with a secret salt, the value you looked up (truncated), the country of the result where applicable, and how long the lookup took. The hash lets us count distinct users and detect abuse without storing the address itself; we cannot reverse it. Retention: 30 days, after which the rows are deleted automatically.
Rate limiting
To keep the tools and the API available to everyone, we keep a short-lived counter keyed by your IP address. Counters expire within an hour.
DNS leak test
Running the DNS leak test creates a one-time token. We store the token, the IP address you connected from, and the addresses of the DNS resolvers that queried our name server for that token, because the result cannot be computed without them. Retention: 24 hours.
Contact messages
When you send a message through the contact form, we store your name (if given), email address, subject, message, and a hashed IP address, and we email the message to the site operator so it can be answered. Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and are not deleted automatically; you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Banner statistics
Banners on the site are served by us. We count impressions and clicks per banner per day as aggregate totals. No per-visitor record is created. Clicking a banner takes you through a redirect on our site that adds campaign parameters (UTM tags) to the destination URL; the destination site then sees your visit under its own privacy policy.
Error logs
If a request fails, we log the time, the request path, and the error message so we can fix it. These logs do not include your IP address. They are rotated by size, and old files are discarded.
Administration
The administration area at /admin is used only by the site operators. Administrator actions are written to an audit log. Retention: 1 year.
Legal basis
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process the data above on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing the tools you request, keeping the service available, and preventing abuse. Contact messages are processed to respond to your request. Optional analytics, when enabled, is used in our legitimate interest to understand which pages are useful, with IP anonymization turned on.
Cookies
- Visitors: no cookies are set by ipcheckerpro itself.
- Analytics (optional): if Google Analytics 4 is enabled, Google sets its own analytics cookies in your browser. We configure it with IP anonymization. You can block these cookies in your browser without affecting any tool.
- Admin area: a session cookie named
icp_adminis set only when someone logs in at/admin. It is not set for ordinary visitors.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting for our own purposes. The browser fingerprint tools compute values to show them to you; they are not stored.
Third parties
- Google Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google's font servers. When your browser requests those files, Google receives your IP address and user agent under Google's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 (optional). When enabled, page views are reported to Google with IP anonymization. We do not send your IP, lookup values, or test results to Google.
- Services queried on your behalf. Some tools can only work by asking another party. WHOIS queries go to the responsible internet registry over RDAP. Blocklist checks send the address being checked to each list operator's DNS zone. DNS lookup and propagation queries send the domain name you enter to public resolvers. Ping, traceroute, and port tools run from our own measurement node. In each case the third party receives the value you asked about, not your identity, and our server makes the request rather than your browser.
- Hosting. Our hosting provider processes requests on our behalf and keeps standard server logs under its own policies.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because lookup records contain only a salted hash of your IP address, we cannot identify you from them and cannot retrieve "your" rows; they expire within 30 days in any case. For contact messages and anything else that can be tied to you, write to us through the contact page and we will act on the request.
Children
The site does not target children and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and note the date of the last revision here. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
